Easter Sunday is only five days away! For all of you procrastinators who haven't planned anything yet with your friends and family, fear not because we have found a couple of great places that are planning on a delicious menu and more for the big day! Check out which ones we think are worth the visit on one of the biggest holidays of the year.
Local 92- 92 2nd Avenue, East Village
If you are looking for something a little less traditional for Easter Sunday yet packed with super delicious flavors and great decor, then Local 92 is your place to go to this weekend. Local 92 recently just re-launched their menu with some amazing additions by Chef Paul Jimenez (previously at Le Cirque). It is touted as a Middle Eastern restaurant that blends with American eats, and is one of the best restaurants in the East Village that you should be trying out.
They are rolling out fantastic Prix-fix menu for you and your friends to enjoy. The menu includes delicious items such as Seared Scallops, Zucchini Flowers for your appetizer, Beef Short Ribs & Big Eye Tuna for your entree, and Tiramisu and Mix Berry Tart for your dessert. Gaby Brasserie Francaise- 44 West 45th Street
In France, no Easter holiday is complete without a well-seasoned gigot d’agneau (lamb). It follows then that Sofitel New York, bastion of French traditions, will feature a Seven-Hour Lamb cooked to perfection by Executive Chef Sylvain Harribey, who hails from Bordeaux. It will be the main attraction of a special Easter plate inspired by the Chef’s French upbringing served in the hotel’s popular Gaby Brasserie Française. It also includes Roasted Bliss Potatoes, a Spicy Salmon Tartar, and French Onion Soup and Crème Brulee. This Easter brunch menu choice is priced at $28 excluding tax and gratuity. Gaby’s daily brunch menu will also be available to guests who wish to order a la carte. Easter Day Brunch will be served on Sunday, March 27 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Unlimited Bloody Marys and Mimosas will be offered for $20 per person. Jue Lan Club- 49 West 20th Street
Modern Chinese fair and Easter Sunday normally don't go together, but in some exceptions, they can really work. That is what Jue Lan Club has accomplished with a particular dish they are serving throughout the holiday and beyond with Chef Oscar Toro's Lamb Ribeye, which marries the springtime meat with an extra helping of grain protein. He serves the lamb with a side of spiced carrot puree (which he makes in house), red quinoa and glazed heirloom baby carrots.
