Agreement

These terms govern your use of Manhattan Digest and its related publishing services. By using the site, you agree to these terms and theprivacy policy.

If you do not agree, do not use interactive features or submit content. You may still leave the site at any time.

Volunteer and independent contributors

Manhattan Digest is a volunteer publication. It has no editorial staff and does not provide routine prepublication review, assignment, or fact-checking.

Each writer selects subjects and publishes under that writer's own name. Statements and opinions belong to that writer alone. They do not necessarily represent another writer, the site administrator, or Fun & Joy, LLC.

Contributors act independently and are not employees, agents, partners, or authorized spokespersons merely because their work appears here. Participation is unpaid unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

Writers are responsible for accuracy, permissions, attribution, conflicts, and legally required sponsorship or endorsement disclosures. Administrative publication does not mean that the site endorses or verifies a contribution.

Information, opinions, and outside links

Site content is offered for general information and commentary. It is not legal, medical, financial, safety, or other professional advice.

Content may be incomplete, disputed, outdated, or incorrect. Verify important information with qualified sources before relying on it.

Links lead to services controlled by other people. A link does not mean that the site or every contributor endorses the linked service, content, availability, or privacy practices.

Age and accounts

The site is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 to submit comments, create an account, or send personal information through an interactive feature.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for protecting your access credentials. Notify us if you believe an account has been compromised.

Comments and submitted content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Fun & Joy, LLC a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, format, reproduce, display, distribute, and promote it as part of the site.

This license continues while the content remains on the site and for reasonable backups or legal records. A separate contributor agreement may contain additional terms.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content. Your submission must not violate privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, confidentiality, contract, or other legal rights.

Acceptable use

You may not use the site to:

• Break the law or encourage immediate unlawful conduct.
• Threaten, harass, impersonate, defraud, or unlawfully expose someone.
• Submit content you do not have the right to publish.
• Distribute malware, spam, deceptive links, or automated abuse.
• Bypass access controls, rate limits, or security protections.
• Interfere with service or collect personal information unlawfully.

Administrative removal and access

A site administrator may restrict accounts or remove material for legal, safety, security, spam, or operational reasons. The administrator may act without advance notice when reasonably necessary.

This authority does not create a duty to monitor, edit, endorse, or fact-check every contribution. We do not promise that all disputed or objectionable material will be found or removed.

Copyright concerns

A copyright concern should identify the protected work, the site material at issue, the relevant page address, your contact information, and the basis for your request.

We may ask for verification or additional information. Material may be removed or restricted while we review a credible claim.

Site ownership

Individual writers retain rights in their original contributions, subject to applicable contributor agreements and the license above. Fun & Joy, LLC retains rights in site administration, branding, design, code, and other operator-created materials.

Ordinary links are welcome. Do not republish a full article, remove attribution, or imply endorsement without permission or another lawful basis.

Availability and warranties

The site and its content are provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness, and noninfringement.

A feature or page may change, pause, move, or disappear. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent archives, or error-free operation.

Limits of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Fun & Joy, LLC and the site's administrators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages arising from site use.

Some laws do not allow every exclusion or limitation. In those places, these terms apply only to the extent permitted.

Governing law

Ohio law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise. A dispute must be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction in Ohio.

Changes and severability

These terms may change with the site. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. These terms do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
