New York City’s favorite floating lobster shack is back for the 2016 summer season, and tastier than ever before. North River Lobster Company, located at the new North River Landing at Pier 81 on W41st Street and the Hudson River in Hudson River Park, is the go-to summer spot for fresh lobster rolls, signature cocktails, and a panoramic 360 skyline view. The largest lobster “boat-staurant” in the nation will reopen April 15th for weekends, and April 29th full time with exciting new menu items and full bars on all levels, perfect for groups, after-work cocktails and sunset hangouts.
Eat. North River Lobster Company’s recently expanded menu includes an array of new starters, such as Spicy Pacific Coast Calamari, Maine Lobster Salad and Fried Wonton Shrimp Rolls. Additionally, the menu now features four varieties of lobster rolls: “The New England Classic,” made with old bay mayo, celery, lemon juice and Bibb lettuce; “The New Yorker,” with onion, celery and whole grain mustard aioli; “The Pacific Meets Atlantic,” with nori, sweet chili and scallion sriracha lime aioli; and “The Norwegian,” with herb mayo. Guests have the option of enjoying any of the signature rolls on either a toasted brioche or NY pretzel bun with sea salt chips. Completing the menu is the lobster shack’s classic fresh Raw Bar, Fish and Chips, Lobster Tacos, Truffle Parmesan Fries and an assortment of desserts.
Drink. The drink menu again features a wide selection of beers and wines – white, rose and red – as well as prosecco, pink moscoto, sangria available by the glass and pitchers, beer available by the bottle and buckets, shots, soft drinks, and specialty cocktails. Among the new cocktails are Sweet Summer, made with silver tequila, watermelon, triple sec, fresh lime juice and simple syrup; Uptown Girl, made with peach vodka, hibiscus liquor, pineapple peach schnapps and white wine, and the Lighthouse Lemonade, featuring citron vodka, blue curacao and sweet and sour mix.
Sail. North River Lobster Company will again take diners on short cruises out onto the Hudson up to seven times per day, with a sailing schedule designed for quick lobster lunches, after work drinks, sunset dinners and incredible views of the Empire State Building and the Midtown skyline. This season, guests awaiting the next sailing can relax on the newly configured barge bar and lobster shack providing a great venue for a drink by the water.
