Summer time is rapidly approaching, which means we gotta get our asses off the couch, get into our bathing suits and cute outfits, and head out for some fun with our friends and family.  Fire Island Pines is always a mecca for Manhattanites to travel to in the summer as it is one of the premiere destinations to hit up for fun in the sun and so much more.  Luckily, the world famous Voss Events has so much planned in the Pines that will leave with a big smile on your face.

Fire Island Pines has tapped Voss Events to bring weekly entertainment to the historic gay mecca this summer. As part of the new owners’ plans to renovate and rejuvenate the strip of commercial real estate along the harbor in Fire Island, Voss Events will produce exciting weekend events such as Fridays “Bathhouse” at Pavilion, an extension of their popular NYC Pride party.  They will also host a Saturday “Drag Brunch” at the Blue Whale, and a revamped Pool Deck with South Beach style pool parties all throughout the weekend. Additionally, Voss Events will introduce a new regular DJ to spin at Sip & Twirl and a stage show starring Candis Cayne.  And what is a summer spectacle without the queens of Rupaul’s Drag Race? Voss Events will usher in the island’s first-ever RuPaul’s Drag Race parties, beginning with a blowout spectacular taking place over the island’s annual drag invasion.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of Fire Island Pines,” explains producer Brandon Voss of Voss Events.  His high concept parties at New York’s most exclusive venues, such as The Palace Hotel, W Hotels, Marquee, and the Dream Downtown, have made Brandon Voss one of Manhattan’s leading event planners. His company produces the annual New Year’s Eve gala and Night of the Living Drag Halloween revue, as well as hot ticket events featuring a-list stars including Lady Gaga, Cher, and Caitlyn Jenner.  “I’m thrilled at the opportunity to bring the pageantry, the steam and even the occasional sleaze to New York’s legendary gay mecca.”

Located 90 minutes from New York City, Fire Island Pines became a destination for gay men after it was founded in 1952.   For Friday’s “BathHouse”, The Pavilion will be converted into a seventies style bathhouse with spa treatments, roman statues, and towel dancers.    Saturday’s “Drag Brunch” at the Blue Whale will feature top drag personalities from around the world, including many stars from RuPaul’s Drag Race.  The Pool Deck is being made over into a chic, high-end day club with new day beds, cabanas, and landscaping.

“This is only the beginning,” promises Voss.  “We’re working hard to bring The Pines back to its glory days.”
