Yes New York, it's that time of year where people start planning for the next holiday, Labor Day. Every year you do the same humdrum thing, a family BBQ or a day at the beach. Don't get me wrong we love a good BBQ along with a nice beach day however it may be time to spice things up a bit.

Mohegan Sun is the ideal place to spend any weekend, especially Labor Day weekend. Some people fail to realize that Mohegan Sun has more to offer than just a day/night of gambling yet it is more like a resort where the whole family can have fun.

Who doesn't appreciate the rawness that comes with live entertainment and being able to see your favorite performer in an uncensored atmosphere. Well Mohegan Sun is home to an award winning Arena where top notch musicians headline shows along with hosting sporting events there.

If large crowds are not your thing and you prefer something more intimate, then Comix a comedy club or The Wolf Den a smaller theater is the perfect place for you.

Others may want a weekend of relaxation while at Mohegan Sun and trust it's possible at their Elemis Spa. This spa experience is regulated by ten exotic cultures while providing scenic views to calm the body.

Offering an array of facials, massage and detox therapies Elemis Spa is furnished with taking care of your pampering needs.

What is a weekend getaway without a little shopping to indulge in. Surprisingly Mohegan Sun has 33 different shopping options ranging from Coach to Yankee Candle. There are delights here for everyone in the family, even the one that forgets to pack certain things.

Speaking of treats, Mohegan Sun highlights their 44 dining options that are more extravagant than the food court you probably were expecting. While on your getaway you want to treat yourself to delectable food and there are plenty to choose from. Whether you're in the mood for Sol Toro Taco's or Todd English Tuscany you will not be disappointed.

For the family that includes children how would this be a conducive getaway without activities for them. Thankfully Mohegan Sun has two separate oasis for children, Kids Quest & Cyber Quest.  There are activities in both places for children of 6 weeks and up to participate in.

If this is not enough to convince you that Mohegan Sun is the place for Labor Day Weekend, then the New England Food Truck Festival should.  Taking place Sept 3rd and 4th this is where local foodies and out-of-town visitors can end the summer together with dozens of food trucks, live music and entertainment for kids.

Come make this a memorable Labor Day with Mohegan Sun!
