Only in a city like New York can you combine two different activities that we happen to love here more than most- working out and drinking delicious craft beer.  Now, there is an event that is combining the love for both and doing so with a big cause in mind.  This is called the Brew Hop 5K & Craft Beer Festival, taking place on Sunday, September 18th at Randalls Island!

Following a 5K around Randall’s Island, runners (and folks who just want to indulge in the beer fest) will enjoy complimentary beer samples from Brooklyn Brewery, Sixpoint Brewery, SingleCut Beersmiths, Third Rail Beer, Bronx Brewery, Gun Hill Brewing Company, Rockaway Brewing, KelSo Beer Company, Alphabet City Brewing, Blue Point Brewing Company, Great South Bay Brewery, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company and more, complete with a tasting glass, koozie, and other surprises from participating breweries

The post-race festival will feature live music, lawn games, brewery row, art installations, local food trucks, vendor village, and seating areas.

VIP tickets are also available for purchase, which will grant access to a private lounge area with wait staff to get beers for you, free massages, private bathrooms, exclusive food and beer offerings, and a limited edition poster.

The Brew Hop will benefit City Harvest, the world's first food rescue organization, by donating 10% of the proceeds directly to the charity. There will also be a food drive on-site for attendees who wish to bring nonperishable food items to donate!

Sounds like a great event!  For more information, check out the official site.  Have fun!
