Video games have always relied upon the interactive ingredient that makes them so much more visceral than the passive activity of watching television. But in the past few years, we’ve seen many fascinating developments from online games, casino sites, and even virtual reality technologies that aim to make video games even more involving.

It’s thanks to online technologies that video games have become more engrossing. The phenomenal rise of World of Warcraft showed how games really come alive when we interact with other humans within the gaming environment. By creating an artificial universe where gamers get to compete against or team up with other players, it’s helped develop a much more complex type of gameplay.

As such, anything from massively multiplayer online strategy games like Game of War, to world-builders like Minecraft have become huge global hits through the way that they allow human interaction to operate in the artificial domain with unprecedented complexity.

Because games have become more creative, there’s also been the growing trend of people merely watching video games as a spectator sport. Part of the reason why games TV channels like Twitch have succeeded is through the way that they provide an element of sociability between gamers and viewers in a way that was unimaginable just a decade ago.

This trend for social gaming can also be found in the nascent casino gaming realm that include live chat options to help create a more realistic gaming atmosphere. In addition to this, brands like New Jersey Online Casinos provide the latest news about NJ casinos so that gamers can learn about the best offers and promotions in this dynamic gaming environment.

But many games companies are starting to go a step further by encouraging fans to take part in the actual development of the games themselves. The rise of beta test gaming has helped many games overcome technical issues by getting gamers to ‘road test’ early versions of the game and comment on any particularly troubling flaws.

If you were looking for any further evidence about how games are becoming truly interactive, then just check out the latest wave of virtual reality games. Not only do headsets like the PlayStation VR offer a stunningly realistic 3D environment to explore, but Oculus Rift have developed wireless motion control hoops that add a further tactile sense to this already stunningly interactive gaming realm.

So although the Super Mario Run game might be currently getting all the headlines, such platformers run the risk of being superseded by the more interactive gaming trends of live chat, casino blogs and fully sensory virtual reality.
