I am beaming with pride right now, as my good friend Huascar Aquino kicked off 2017 with a delicious bang as his new location, Huascar & Co. Bake Shop, is officially opened!  After months of anticipation, he opened his doors on West 54th Street between 9th and 10th Avenue this past Saturday to lines of people waiting to taste the Cupcake Wars winners' creations!

Huascar has made quite the name for himself in the Manhattan sweets scene for many years, as he used to have another location opened not too far away from the one that is his new mainstay. Known for his innovative cupcake ideas, mouthwatering cookies, and deliciously friendly disposition, he has done quite a lot for himself that has gotten myself and Manhattan Digest buzzing over the years.

We named his old location one of the best places to get sweets in Manhattan, as well as our "best of" list for 2016.  No doubt that his new location will earn him the same praise for 2017, as we stopped by during its opening to see what he had in stores for his customers.

With balloons adorning the new space, there were people coming from all over the place and battling the cold and snowy weather to help celebrate the big day, including my nephew and father who came all the way in for Long Island for the big day.  He was selling items out left and right, which isn't a surprise as everything from his Peanut Butter & Jelly Cupcakes and more were a big hit for the masses to enjoy.

Best of luck to Huascar in the future!  If you have some time today, or this week, definitely stop on by Huascar & Co. Bake Shop and indulge yourself in something divine and sweet!  For more information, check out his official site.
