I am never one to turn down a taco, no matter what kind of diet I am on or mood I'm in (insert as many taco emojis as possible here).  So naturally, I was super excited to see that a new location dedicated to my love of this Mexican jewel of a cuisine, Street Taco, just opened in the heart of Gramercy on the corner of 26th Street and 3rd Avenue.  Street Taco has a pretty simple concept- bomb ass tacos, drinks, flautas, desserts and more in an incredibly artistic setting that will leave you inspired and full in the best way possible.

Street Taco is brought to the public by Fox Lifestyle Hospitality Group, as their goal in this space is to combine Mexican street food and art in a beautiful setting.  They accomplished this and then some.  Artists Nicole Salgar & Mike Rubendall have beautifully crafted these stunning visuals that you see all throughout Street Taco that bring on a ton of conversation about the colors and what you actually can see in each.  It really elevates this location to beyond the basic color schemes you see in its competitors and bring on a level of art form that is somewhat dying in Manhattan.

The menu really does have an incredible diversity to it, that also doesn't pack a financial punch when ordering multiple items.  On the food side, there is nothing over $20 to order, and each and every item that we were presented with was visually very stunning on top of being very tasty especially given the compatibility of the warm weather we are finally having.

That being said, here is what we recommend that you try the next time you go to Street Taco.  I'm really not much of a drinker, but with the week that I had last week it was a foregone conclusion that some sort of alcohol would be part of this dinner!  I was immediately drawn to their Rum-Chata, which had House Made Horchata & Flor De Cana 7 Year (otherwise known as RUM!), all in this super awesome silvery can.  This is the kind of drink you would have on the beaches of Miami in 90 degree weather while you are getting a super awesome tan.  The flavors meld so well together, and was the perfect "cool down" drink on that Friday evening.

The snacks section only had two options, but it was clear to me which one we wanted to choose as I have a fascination with corn in many varieties.  Their Street Corn Pops, which had mayo, chili, cotija cheese and lime was the perfect 8-10 bites of a snackable snack.  The added flavors of the latter four previously mentioned really made this a succulent dish that I would go back for many times later.

You can't go to a Mexican place and not try some Chips and Guacamole!  In this situation the one that we tried was far from the norm with a great conclusion- their Mango & Pomegranate! It has such a delicious sweetness to it that paired well with the salty chips and made for another great starter.

Obviously, we had many tacos.  Once again, variety was key in this situation as they had a lot to choose from in the meat, fish, and vegetarian options that were provided.  The standouts here were their Fried Shrimp Tacos with slaw, sweet chili & cilantro, the Roasted Cauliflower Tacos with pico, crema, cotija and radish and finally their Blackened Fish Tacos with slaw, jalapeno aioli, and cilantro.  The ingredients themselves provide elements of flavors that are necessary to be in a taco of sorts, and they all succeeded my expectations because of that and then some.  The Fried Shrimp is a crowd favorite, and I can see why, but all three really were some of the best bites I have had in quite some time.

Street Taco has only been open for a couple of weeks, but is jam packed at an early hour until late night.  I have high hopes that this location will do incredibly well!  For more information on Street Taco, check out their official site.
