We have grown to absolutely adore and love Park Avenue Tavern here at Manhattan Digest.  This Grand Central-adjacent location has provided us with some of its heartiest and tasty American fare that we have devoured at each occasion we find ourselves there.  Last weekend, a friend of mine was visiting from Kansas so naturally I wanted to take him there to experience how great it is in all its glory.  Little did I know that Park Avenue Tavern has an off the chain brunch that made us giddy as myself when I find out that Chris Pratt is in town!

For their dinner and new items for the spring, you can see the other articles I did on them here: manhattandigest.com, park avenue tavern spring menu, and here: manhattandigest.com, park avenue tavern lights midtown east.  For now, however, we talk brunch.  As previously mentioned, Park Avenue Tavern keeps their brunch menu in line with the rest of what they prepare for their endless assortment of folks who come in, as modern American is the name of the game for its establishment.

Their brunch menu is divided into starters, classics, eggs, salads and sandwiches, so it can satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.  For that particular day, my friend beelined for an amazing classic whereas I went for a sandwich and side that filled both of us up and left us feeling happy and content.

I am never one to shy away from a great sandwich, no matter what they put on (minus beets.  Beets are the devil).  Their Grilled Chicken Sandwich did the trick with Romesco, Fresh Mozzarella, Arugula, Sherry Aioli and Kettle Chips.  This is a dish that I could literally pack up in a box and head out east to The Hamptons or Montauk with, as it has such a beachy theme to it, in particular the kettle chips which act as a great alternative to french fries which can have a bit too much weight to it.  The combination of all the ingredients make this such a great sandwich, with the aioli adding a nice zing to everything else that encompasses it.

If you aren't a fan of Chicken and Waffles, then honestly we can't be friends.  BYE!  Kidding.  But their version, which is fried, was amazing in all of its glory that includes even how it is served to us.  This is made with Maple-Brined Chicken, Malted Waffles, Spicy Honey, Pepitas, Cultured Butter and a Maple-Sherry Vinegar.  It's interesting because you have so many sweet elements on their but when you throw in the Spicy Honey and the Vinegar it adds a flare that balances this dish from being one way.  We finished this in about 5 minutes flat.  No joke.

If brunch is your thing, and it should be, then head to Park Avenue Tavern this weekend to experience this and so much more.  For more information on Park Avenue Tavern, please check out their official website.
