April 12th marks National Grilled Cheese Day, and these locations will definitely be serving up their own versions of one of the most classic American dishes out there.

Melt Shop: Multiple locations throughout Manhattan
In celebration of National Grilled Cheese Day (April 12) and National Grilled Cheese Month (April), Melt Shop is featuring a sandwich called The Big Pull, which is basically the cheesiest sandwich that all your “cheese-pull” dreams are made of.  More info here.

Junior's Restaurant: 1515 Broadway
One of the most visited and iconic locations in Manhattan, Junior’s offers their Grilled Cheese on Thick Cut Challah with French Fries with a choice of Cheddar, Mozzarella, American or Swiss cheese. You also have an option of adding toppings such as bacon or ham.  I tried it the other day and it is out of this world delicious! More info here.

Beauty & Essex: 146 Essex Street
This Lower East Side hotspot (see our review here), which is run by Food Network star Chris Santos, is taking the idea of National Grilled Cheese Day and running with it in a completely different direction.  For those who want to try something very unique, order their Grilled Cheese, Smoked Bacon & Tomato Soup Dumplings, which is a delectable tomato soup topped with plump, 6-cheese fried dumplings with chopped bacon bits to finish. Yum!  More info here.

Vaucluse: 100 E. 63rd Street
Staying on the off the beaten path for National Grilled Cheese Day, chef Michael White of Upper East Side mainstay Vaucluse wants you to experience this cheesy holiday of sorts by trying his Croque Madame.  This particular dish oozes gruyere (such an underrated cheese) over toasted bread layered with ham and a sunny side egg.  Sign us up.  More info here.
