Vintage interior meets modern American cuisine at Parker & Quinn, located right outside Times Square at 39th Street between 5th and 6th avenue. Read on to find out why this place will leave you satisfied in more ways than one.

Parker & Quinn is located in a part of Manhattan with a ton of foot traffic, which to the average NYC'er could be a tad annoying especially after your busy day at work. What's great about this place is that all your Big Apple blues get whisked away the minute you enter inside, as the location itself has a relaxed and chill vibe that will make you forget about the concrete jungle you came from.

Something easily noticeable about Parker & Quinn is just how spacious it really is. The gorgeous bar greets you right when you walk in and the seating area that encompasses it seems to go on and on.

The vintage backdrop of this space is easy to recognize as well but in a way that is inviting and not too much to handle. Creativity when it comes to designing a restaurant is crucial to its success, and Parker & Quinn have done that in the ambiance and the delicious food that we were provided with earlier this week.

American dining done at its best is how I can describe the cuisine that me and my friend chowed down on. It's broken down into several categories: small plates, salads, mains, burgers, sandwiches and flatbreads. So much to choose from (see the menu here).

The starters run the gamut of deliciousness, from hummus to seared tuna and more. Two that I would recommend are their bite sized Fried Chicken Sliders and Butchers Meatballs. The former happens to be some of the best fried chicken I've had in a while, which is crazy because it comes in such a compact kind of way. The bacon butter (yes, BACON FREAKING BUTTER) and hot sauce just makes it taste that much better. As for the Butchers Meatballs, they are cooked to perfection and come with some sauce and ricotta as well as crusty bread for dipping. Yum.

As for their mains, I've been on a scallop kick lately and their seared version did the trick for me that evening. It's paired with a mix of sunchokes, green apple & brussels slaw and crispy pancetta. Those four are dynamite ingredients to go with the scallop dish itself and make for a true highlight of the night.

If you have a major appetite, then their Pork Shank with braised collard greens, heirloom beans and pomegranate gremolata will definitely satisfy you. The shank itself is a bit Flinstone esque but tastes incredibly. The meat is super tender and spectacular with a great supporting cast that encompasses it.

If you still have room for dessert, then their Warm Trademark Double Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet Sundae will help finish off your mean in a decadent kind of way.
