Prova Pizzabar has cemented itself as one of the best (if not the best) place to eat at inside Grand Central Station. Chef and owner Donatella Arpaia's wonderful culinary creations continue to dazzle the masses... this writer included.

I have been a fan of Donatella's for years, both in real life at her fabulous restaurants and during her many television appearances on shows like Iron Chef and more.

My hours-long chat that I had with her last year just proved what an unbelievably cool and talented chef and person that she is. Her drive and determination has helped her open some of the most iconic spots that NYC has ever seen including David Burke & Donatella, Bellini and now Prova Pizzabar.

Prova Pizzabar is a place that I've stopped in before, and was dazzled from first bite to last. Naturally I had to go back as my taste buds went from 0 to 100 the minute I confirmed my reservation to dine there again.

Here's what's so fantastic about Prova Pizzabar. For one, it's a quiet spot amid a hectic location like Grand Central. I am someone who despises a ton of noise, so to be able to escape that while eating some delicious Italian cuisine is not lost on this pesky New Yorker.

Secondly, the place reads like something out of an old school Italian pizzeria in a modern world. It's a cool, calm and sophisticated atmosphere that also acts as a place you can grab a quick bite in as they have regular seating where the rest of the restaurants are downstairs in Grand Central.

Third, the food is amazing. It's Italian food done right, from the tantalizing appetizers like their Garlic Knots smothered in Mozzarella to the decadent pizza pie options. My favorite option was their Rustica, which came with tomato sauce, mozzarella, sausage, peppers, onion and parsley. Six simple ingredients done right. I had leftovers for two days that made my weekend that much yummier.

Prova Pizzabar also has some stellar pasta and salad options and a delicious cannoli to end your meal. If you ever find yourself hungry in Grand Central, and want to experience something truly wonderful, then this is the place for you.
