Theater queens may recall John Cameron Mitchell from his 1991 portrayal of mystical garden boy Dickon in the stage musical adaptation of the classic The Secret Garden. Since then, he's had an impressive career on stage, on television and in movies -including a recent stint in the juggernaut Broadway play Oh, Mary!
Tonight, he'll kick off PRIDE Weekend in Brooklyn with a special performance at the Crown Hill Theater. He'll also celebrate the 25th anniversary of his downtown hit that created universal buzz, Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Mitchell is joined by Music Director Justin Craig (Stereophonic, Tony nominee), keyboardist Matthew Katz-Bohen (Blondie), vocalist Shannon Conley (Lez Zeppelin) and more, with lighting design by Jojo Franjoine and visuals by Michael Zumbrun.
Take that wig down from the shelf and scoot on over to Crown Heights for a fabulous performance by one of our most unique contemporary artists.
