Melt Shop is the king of grilled cheeses in Manhattan. Hundreds of people flock to their several locations on a daily basis for the cheesy goodiness they provide on top of several other mouthwatering items. Their 50th street location just gave their fans another reason to love them as they've introduced a scrumptious new breakfast menu that you should try out.
Breakfast has arrived at Melt Shop's spot on W. 50th between 6th and 7th avenue, and we foodies are hoping it is here to stay.
It didn't come as much of a surprise when I found out that this tasty space was expanding to breakfast given how successful their dishes have been for people to devour later on in the day.
I got to try several of their breakfast items a couple of weeks ago alongside a very hungry friend who was visiting from Ohio. He told me it was one of the best breakfasts he's ever had which is saying something given the amount of food he eats on the daily (no shade).
The items that stood out on their breakfast menu reads as follows. A simple Egg & Cheese Melt with 2 eggs, American & cheddar cheese on a Brioche Bun was superb. Hearty, wonderful and tasted great.
I have to highlight the Breakfast Totchos, as those were the best things we ate all morning. They are tater tots with bacon, cheese sauce, jalapenos & caramelized onions topped with a sunny egg. I love a good egg in dishes like this and it worked so well on top of all the yummy items already listed.
They also have sweet items available like Chicken & Donuts with chicken tenders, cinnamon sugar donuts. vanilla cream and maple syrup. I'm a sucker for salty and sweet and this option works perfectly for that concept.
