Raise a glass! Pink Martini’s 30th anniversary Tour makes a stop at New York City’s Carnegie Hall on Friday November 1st. Led by Founders Thomas Lauderdale and China Forbes, this musically diverse band is one of the most ambitious contemporary groups. Singing in over 30 languages and a multiple of genres, Pink Martini defies categorization.
They kicked off the fall tour in Canada at the beginning of October. Since then, they’ve played cities including Boston, Washington D.C., Nashville, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. They will wrap up the tour Saturday night in Philadelphia.
The Carnegie Hall audience will enjoy appearances from guest stars Storm Large, Broadway’s Shoshana Bean, and NPR host Ari Shapiro, a frequent collaborator with Pink Martini.
The band came to notoriety in 1994 with “Sympathique”, a catchy tune that caught the ear of France and earned the group a prestigious French Music award. They went on to record other hits including, “Hey Eugene” and covers of well known international songs.
