To say that this week has been tough for the LGBT community and its supporters this week, is probably the biggest understatement I have ever seen in my lifetime.  However, we are a strong community that prevails through the toughest of tragedies, and with “Pride” happening all throughout June, this is the one time for us to unify and show that strength at a plethora of events where our faces can be seen and our voices can be heard.   Daybreaker, one of the biggest dance parties in New York City, is planning a very special “pride” themed event next Wednesday called Gaybreaker.  Happening in the hours before work starts, the hope is that everyone can start their day off feeling energized, electric, and with a sense of unity that the LGBT community has strengthened over the past 50 years.

Gaybreaker will be happening at Space Ibiza, which has hosted several gay related parties in the past, including Furball and many more.  The first hour of the event will be for fitness junkies, which is between 6-7 AM, then the dance party will be in full effect from 7-8:45 AM, followed by an amazing live performance from 8:45-9AM, just in time to get your work day started.  The event will also be donating a percentage of the ticket proceeds to Equality Florida, in order to help the hundreds of people who are affected by the loss of a loved one(s).  Per the website-

In light of what occurred last weekend in Orlando, the event we’ve planned has taken on more weight and meaning. We want to voice our support for not only the victims of the tragedy, but for the communities it has so greatly affected. We stand with you, Orlando, and we stand with you, the LGBTQ community. A percentage of ticket proceeds will go toward the victims’ families through Equality Florida. Now, more than ever, we want to express and celebrate our Pride. Come out, celebrate love through music and dance, and be proud: proud of being LGBTQ, proud of being American, and proud of being exactly who you are, without fear or apology—only love.

On June 22nd, we’re excited to fly our rainbow flag high & proud for Gay Pride month in NYC. We want to celebrate love in every form, and there’s no better way we can think to do it than by breaking the day together with a rainbow-washed, glitter-studded, love-infused Gaybreaker. Come out to Space Ibiza and break down the walls & let love win while we break it down on the dance floor. It’s as simple as this: Love belongs to everyone.

Go to this event.  Go to all the events you want for Pride and beyond.  Show that you aren’t afraid to be you in 2016, and enjoy every minute of it while helping several others out.  For more information on this event, check out their official site.
