One of my favorite areas of Manhattan is easily The Meatpacking district.  It is one of the trendiest areas of the cities, as it has a ton of amazing shops and restaurants to indulge in every once in a while (or every day, if you are lucky enough).  Last night, all of this was celebrated under one roof, as Highline Stages, on 14th between 10th and 11th, played host to its 4th Annual party called Open Market.

What is Open Market exactly?  It is simply a celebration of the Meatpacking district's thriving business community, as it becoming more diverse and better than ever.  Last night was reminiscent of a much smaller version of the Food & Wine Festival, but still retaining the fact that there were some amazing businesses there who showed off the best of the best in food, drink, design, clothing and more.

Everyone from Diane von Furstenberg, Rag & Bone, Theory, and Helmut Lang had sample sales for hundreds to try out.  The food and drink was beyond on point, as several businesses local to the area showcased some of their best dishes, including Sons & Daughters, Sugar Factory, Morimoto (our personal favorite), Bodega Negra and so much more.

The event also had a fabulous silent auction that anyone inside could have bid on that included some amazing prizes that help the Meatpacking District out, which is primarily what Open Market is all about.  Overall, it was a fantastic party that everyone seemed to have a great time at and I look forward to seeing what they have in stores next year!

About Open Market:

Open Market is dedicated to the promotion of local businesses and artisans to enhance and celebrate the depth of offering in the district. The event is an opportunity for both locals and visitors to experience the district in all its glory for the most entertaining fundraiser of the year.

Open Market raises funds that go towards the sanitation and beautification of the district - the betterment of a beloved neighborhood. This year’s proceeds will be earmarked for the 14th Street Master Plan, a long-term project that facilitates the cosmetic and capital upgrade of the streetscape.
